The AZ State Professional Photographers Association held its annual convention and competition this weekend. Pros from all over the state came together to attend seminars, learn valuable tips to enhance their business, forge new friendships and compete in the print and album competition.

I had an especially good weekend, winning first place in the wedding album category and receiving the Kodak Gallery Award for Photographic Excellence for the album.

In addition, I received two third place ribbons for print submissions, and was recognized as one of the top ten photographers in Arizona.

The album and both prints were also placed in the AzPPA traveling loan collection.

Ski Trip

Sara and I went skiing with a couple friends to Sunrise in the White Mountains. The ski conditions are the best they've been in years, and we had an amazing time! Saturday was cold, but sunny. Then a storm rolled in on Sunday and we had blizzard conditions all day. We made it down off the Rim Sunday evening just in time, as cars were sliding into the ditch and the road was nearing closure. No worries in my trusty Prius, however. What a great car! (and lots of room for ski stuff too)
